Highly recommended. Good food and packed lunch. Marco and Jane went out of their way to help me.

We stayed at Red Roofs in August 2013 for 1 night at the beginning of the Cleveland Way and 2 nights at the end. Marco and Jane were very friendly and helpful, for example letting us leave our car on their drive for the duration of our walk and recommending a good local walk for our extra day at the end. We had the upstairs double with shared bathroom at the start of our holiday and the large downstairs garden suite at the end. The latter is a twin room with seating and kitchen areas; its ensuite bathroom has a door linking the garden suite to the utility room in the main house, so it can be slightly unnerving hearing people just the other side of the door and hoping it is locked! The swimming pool is now an attractive sunken garden.

Jane and Marco are delightful people who welcomed us warmly to their lovely home in a quiet road on the edge of Helmsley. We booked three nights: one at the beginning, two at the end of our walk. Not only were they happy for us to park our car for those 10 days, they offered to ferry us so that the last long day could be split into two. Our room was perfect: spacious throughout, immaculate, light, with armchairs as well as comfortable beds. It was great to look forward to those last two days. Breakfast was wholesome with good choice well-cooked – just what we like. Highly recommended; we felt most at home.

We stayed here in June 2010. A brilliant place to start the walk. Marco and Jane are excellent hosts and we were made very welcome. The accommodation is very spacious and clean. The garden is superb for enjoying a cup of tea and looking through the maps of the route etc. Marco and Jane were kind enough to let us leave our car on the driveway during the walk. Highly recommended place to stay. John & Rose.

Stayed here on 11th September 2009 Red Roofs is certainly in the premiership as far as B/B establishments are concerned, a super house with very good accomodation which, was immaculately clean. Marco and Jane make you feel instantley wellcome , very nice breakfast complemented by localy produced honey and jams, more than happy to recommend this place.

A very comfortable and spacious room and a warm welcome. This was one of our best B&Bs on the Cleveland Way and we'd definitely recommend it as a good place to start the walk.
