Comments by walkers who stayed at Raise View Guest House in Grasmere on The Coast to Coast Path
Raise View Guest House, run by Karen and John, is ideally situated on the walk out of Grasmere. Although it meant a walk into Grasmere for tea, it was worth it. The accommodation itself was clean and comfortable. The bedroom was a bit on the small side, perhaps not best suited to walkers spreading out their gear. One small issue was the fact that the shower, toilet and sink were all in separate places. It did seem strange to step into the shower straight from the bedroom and not have a sink in the toilet to wash your hands. Breakfast was plentiful, (we had by this time given up on English cooked breakfast.) A lovely place, can recommend a stay here. Stayed 2nd June 2015

Very small room on top floor. Lots of ornaments everywhere! Good breakfast.

Tried to book a one night stop. Owner explained did not take one night bookings. Obviously does not want C2C customers!

I had no problem making a booking for one night. Hosts are very friendly and accomodating; room was comfortable and well appointed (albeit a bit small); and a good breakfast. Recommended.

This was the last night for the rest of my group, walking on my own for a while now, so the two night stay rule was not a problem, as they stayed on for a few days in Grasmere.

John was a great host - only too willing to help.

Fully recommended

tried to make a booking, but I was told they do not do 1 night bookings - not much good on a C2C walk

We were so grateful for the wonderful accommodatoins at Raise View. My husband had experienced a knee injury on the walk and as a result we arrived after 9 in the evening. John and his wife gave us food (and a glass of wine), and made us feel so comfortable. Breakfasts were great, with wonderful fresh fruit, real coffee and lovely tea. Out room was small but very comfortable and clean, a great bed, lovely view, good shower... We recommend this B&B highly!

What a wonderful place for a rest day! John is a marvellous host and everything about this establishment is perfect. We stayed in Helm Crag room (I think), which has spectacular views. The decor is very tasteful and the breakfast couldn't be faulted. Worth the money! Would stay again anytime.

Excellent accommodation! Beautifully decorated throughout. Beds and shower couldn't have been bettered. Breakfast was top class (the best of the whole CTC walk). Wide choice of cereals and fruit. The cooked breakfast was just right. Huge pot of tea! Perfect rest day accommodation. Worth every penny. And thank you John for allowing my partner and I into our room so early in the day (I was ill with heat exhaustion). Wonderful views of Helm Crag and Far Easedale from bedroom window. Will definitely stay there again.
