This is a great camp site that is very well run. toilets, showers, laundry facilities are all very good. and very clean.
Staff are very helpful aswell.
Would recommend.

Campsite good but must have caught the owner on a bad day as she was less than welcoming. Also, we were charged 9.00 not 7.25 as stated.

A beautiful campsite with fantastic facilities and a very friendly owner/manager. Having a pub just over the road was a bonus too as the site is at the opposite end of town from the centre, which saves any extra walking after a long day from Shap on the CTC. Highly recommended.

Fabulous campsite with very friendly hosts. Very helpful to us and we would highly recommend it as a stop over to rest up a day or two.

Really well equipped, proper campsite. Absolutely flat and really quiet (have separate family and adult camping).

Tumble driers available.

Only downside is stupid amount of midges - quite unpleasant.

A very nice site indeed with excellent facilities including gushing, hot showers, washer, dryer and even an iron! A very comfortable stay with a nice meal at the Croglin castle across the road. A little out of the village but you do get to walk back down the next day and stock up on provisions. The guy in the outdoor shop in the village is really helpful!

The flat camping pitch was heaven, the facilities are top notch but the hospitality doesn't match. I spent 4 hours sat on a park bench waiting for my bags/tent to arrive in the rain. A shame they couldn't trust me with a chair!!

Not the most picturesque spot, as the campsite is dominated by caravans, but a well organised site, with a large shower block and a sheltered area for eating. However, would really have preferred to have had our showers in peace without the piped-in local radio, and without the ridiculous keypad locks (which invariably didn't work) on the shower block.

The best site on the route. Very high standards and facilities. They even carried my rucksack to my pitch!

AUG 05 A realy good first class site I recommend stoping here and you can have a shower and get the news weather and local trafic and travel info as local radio is piped in BLISS aftre a walk from Shap

What a haven!! A pan flat neatly cropped lawn to pitch our tents, a barn next to it with two pinic tables inside to eat at, a water pipe next to that, the best washing facilities ever, both our kit and us were immaculate. Thanks for the paper to stuff our boots with. Shame we had to leave, no other campsites along the CTC (East to West) compare. The Old Forge restaurant in the town itself well worth a visit and thanks for the donation.

What this site lacks in terms of charm or location, it makes up for with efficiency and good facilities.

good site. A bit out of town but next to a pub (good food). Site clean with good facilities and helpful owners.

Nice showers but 4.50 is a bit steep, and we got attacked by thousands of midges.

If only all campsite owners were required to spend a few months here learning how it should really be done! This is a superb site with all the bells and whistles.

Arrived at the Campsite after a very wet and windy days walk from Shap. Immaculate campsite, brilliant shower/toilet facilities, laundry facilities. Opposite a pub.

Excellent site, clean showers and plenty of hot water.I stayed here the night before getting the bus to the start of the walk and knowing I had this to look forward to at the half-way point was a morale booster after the awful places on route.
