I can only agree with the previous comments - it's a wonderful place to stay. My wife and I may well go back to Richmond principally for the pleasure of doing so.

If you can stretch to this for one night of your c2c, do! It is fabulous. The young lady who looked after us as the owners were away was extremely competent and friendly. The house and gardens are extraordinary; go and see them if you can. The breakfast was definitely the best of the trip. If you have a bag being picked up by Sherpa, pack it the night before and put it ready for collection, so that you can enjoy a lie in. We really do want to go back to Millgate House sometime soon

If youve ever read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil you will know what this house is like. Quirky. Dont miss it, it is worth staying there for the experience, fantastic breakast and comfortable rooms. Lovely meal at the Frenchgate restaurant.

Millgate house is fantastic. A wonderful comfortable room with complimentary chocolates and whisky. Friendly hosts and dog and the breakfast was the best of the trip. A touch of luxury on the C 2 C.

Lovely! Huge room, lots of old furniture and comfy chairs in our room. We had a private bathroom which was wonderful - great bath! Food is superb. Lovely gardens. The Thai restaurant is also recommended. We ate there twice.
