Solo travellers beware. The quote is 55:00 but I was asked to pay 72:00. Big bed but the room was small, hard to walk around. Worst value on the C2C.

We stayed here on the 25th May 2011 of in a twin room overlooking the beer garden. The room we had was quite small for two people and two cases. The room was nice but, if you don't want to get away from it all, note there is no TV/radio and the wifi access didnt work due to interference from a adjacent wifi. The bathroom was very nice. The food and drink prices were on the high side but we enjoyed the evening in the bar and restuarant. Breakfast was nice too.Very close to the C2C. The twin room rate was quite expensive compared to others of equal quality that we have experienced. It was 105.

The beer garden here is great and just what's wanted after a day's walk. Our room was very nice and comfortable, and we enjoyed our dinner and breakfast. Highly recommended.

What a delight to stay here. Excellent accommodation with a bathroom you wish you could take with you. Good food and service. Not the cheapest on the C2C but certainly value for money

One of the bst places to eat on the entire walk - pub grub it isn't. We stayed at the B and B oppostite and ate here. A great combination. Book a table ahead if you are not staying here - otherwise its a mile or so back to Rosthwaite to eat at the Scafell (their bar at the back of the hotel is a complete walkers pub)

We stayed here in September 2007.
The hotel & the staff were all brilliant and the Lamb was to die for I might even bring my wife up here for a weekend.

Comfy room and excellent food in mid September

We arrived after a fantastic hot day and it was a pleasure to eat here as the food was brilliant and used fresh local ingredients. The bed was clean and comfortable although the room itself was quite small with little room to put bags. Bathroom was basic - could be a really special place here as the views from the room are outstanding. As long as you don't turn up expecting a luxurious country hotel you won't be disappointed

Sensational evening meal... the shank of Herdwick made the long walk worth while. Rooms small and packed lunch horrible, but I think these inconsistencies are to be addressed to match the high standard of the new chef / local produce restaurant. would recommend staying here even though it is a bit pricey.

We drinks and dinner here for two nights, while staying at Stonethwaite Farm. Dinner was great, the best on our C-C.

We arrived soaked through after a very tough day to a very warm welcome. Excellent beer and meal, and good company of other C2C walkers.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We recently booked into the Langstrath Country Inn for a one night stop on our Coast to Coast Walk. It was the worst of our entire trip - a Fawlty Towers without the humour.

We arrived at 7pm to find all the tables had been taken by diners. A couple of fellow walkers, who had booked through *******, kindly invited us to share their table. The senior waitress, who had earlier told us there were no tables available in the dining room, came across and abruptly said to them,

My partner and I stayed at the Langstrath for one night whilst walking the Coast to Coast. There was newspapers waiting to stuff inside our boots, radiators to dry any clothing and the room had everything we wanted. Service was good, as was the choice of beer and the food was lovely.
A great setting and we would stay there again.
