Comments by walkers who stayed at Ingleby House Farm in Ingleby Cross on The Coast to Coast Path

We've stayed in some excellent B&B's during our coast to coast walk this summer. Unfortunately work commitments mean we can only walk the C2C three or four days at a time. This is not the best way to walk the path (since the logistics become very challenging) but needs must! This is undoubtedly the best B&B we have stayed in on the route. Jane and Malcolm are the perfect hosts, the accommodation and breakfast are top notch. Add to that, the advice and assistance Malcolm gave us to get us to and from our starting points was above and beyond the call of duty.

So good was Ingleby house farm, we stayed again when completing the next stage, and it was just as good the second time around !

Had a delightful stay with Malcolm and Jane at Ingleby House Farm. The converted barn was comfortable and perfect. Scones and tea were the best on the whole trail. These are very special and hospitable people. Would recommend this B&B highly!

So happy with my stay here! Owners were extremely friendly and accommodating - nothing was too much trouble. Real fresh milk for tea in my room (no tetra) + homemade scones. Clean, neat, tidy & comfortable. Great breakfasts. I took a rest day here; public transport to and from Osmotherly very easy. Can't recommend Ingleby House Farm highly enough.

I stayed three nights during September whilst completing my solo C2C walk. My twin room was in a separate outbuilding, not a big room but fine for me. The separate entrance means you can come and go without disturbing anyone. I enjoyed the cream tea waiting for me in my room each afternoon. Breakfasts were always good as well as ample, the table was shared with other guests so you could swap C2C experiences. The option of being picked up/dropped off is very handy. Lifts open up walking options apart from simply walking nearby sections of the C2C route. It was very convenient to have my laundry done and staying 3 nights meant my washing could be dried naturally much less risky than a tumble dryer for technical walking gear. Apart from a short while one night when something must have disturbed the farm dogs setting them off barking I always slept well. Ingleby House Farm was a good choice made so much better by the friendly helpful owners and options resulting from staying 3 nights.

What an amazing place to stay at the end of the longest C2C stretch. We saved our cream teas for the evening after our pub meal and it was a real pleasure to sit outside and enjoy the sunset while we ate them. This B+B is a great balance as the accommodation is away from the main house so you don't feel you are intruding into the owners privacy and as we had both rooms we really felt our privacy. The owners were really helpful and this was a place that you half regret you only stayed for one night - but that is the C2C.

We enjoyed 5 wonderful days with Jane and Malcolm at their excellent BnB. They could not have been more welcoming and all aspects of their BnB were outstanding. The room was spacious, including the bathroom, and Jane's food was generous and tasty. Malcolm was a font of knowledge about the area and was very helpful in every way, even helping to cure my head cold! Overall, one of the best BnBs we've stayed in anywhere and one of the best on the C2C walk. Highly recommended.

Fantastic, friendly and very practical stay, especially for people walking the C2C. Good breakfast, very helpful couple who kindly gave me lift to the walk Highly recommended B&B!

Cream tea in the sun on the bench outside our private cottage. Generous hosts, excellent breakfast and a warm welcome from the dogs. Thank you Malcolm for the drive!

This was an absolute highlight of the trip, a delightful farm cottage. The main draw was Heather, a charming and very accomplished horse woman who cooked us a terrific meal and shared a bottle of wine with us afterwards. Ask her about her years in the United Arab Emirates, training the Sheik's horses!
