Midge the border collie and I stayed here again in July 2011 on the Brecon Beacons Way.

Still as good and still good value.

Excellent place to stay. The rooms are not en suite - but what do you expect for this very reasonable price?
The food is very good and in huge portions. My breakfast could have fed three. Beer and cider excellent and the setting is superb.
The trek down from and up onto the ridge is a bit of a bind but worth the detour.
Best value of my trip.
Stayed 22/6/09

Just been taken over and the guy George (new landlord) is making headways here. We (3 of us )had a great time. Packed lunch for 4.00 was very good. Excellent info on the paths and walk ahead of our day. Nothing to much troulbe for him, be backagain soon. Just to taste the S O B again.
Thanks George.

This inn was a disaster. Incredibly run down, dirty, to be avoided.

Off route but a delightful walk down with the abbey always in front of you. Remote country pub, basic food and accommodation (no towels), friendly landlord, real ale from local brewery.
