| We also decided to make this day a little shorter by staying in Cleator. The folks were very nice and the food was good. The only negative is that the heat was slow coming on (it was cold and rainy the time we stayed) and the towel warmer never did come on. All in all, I would stay there again though. | |

| My husband and I decided to make our first day on the C2C walk a short one and stayed at Grove Court Hotel. It was raining when we arrived and even though we had not done a huge distance we still felt tired. We thought it would be nice to celebrate our first day with a pint, but since we had arrived early the bar was closed. However, the manager graciously invited us in and pulled pints for us anyway. Our room was comfy and clean and had a great bath and shower. We ate at the hotel, as we had no desire to go out in the rain again. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Our breakfast the next morning was served in the conservatory and was very fresh and delicious. The photo of the front of the of the hotel gave me the impression that it was way out in the country located in a grassy field, but in reality it is on a main road. However, it is set back far enough that we heard no traffic noises. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here very much. July 2010 | |
