Comments by walkers who stayed at Dog Inn in Sodburys on The Cotswold Way

Friendly and well run pub. We had a good evening meal and substantial breakfast. The room was basic but fine for a walkers overnight rest although the main road can be a little noisy but not too disturbing.

The Dog Inn was the penultimate stay on my recent 7 day walk of the Cotswolds Way from Chipping Campden to Bath and it was the best of all the guest houses, inns and b&b's that I used. Why? Above all because of the leadership style of the landlady. She was friendly, welcoming, but business like and efficient. Consequently, the staff were happy and productive. This resulted in a cheery place where everything worked well: the food was excellent, the beer likewise, the atmosphere in the pub was super, and my room was comfortable, well appointed and immaculate. I would certainly recommend the Dog Inn as a great place to stay after a long day on the trail!

Good sized accommodation in cottages that are attached to the pub and not affected by noise.
Good pub-type food and helpful staff

The large room (Bibury) was a in self contained suite away from the road. Best bed of the trip but the duvet was more suitable for the Arctic so we took it out of the cover and just used that. The pub served good food in the evening.

Pleasant pub, efficient at coping with large no. of guests. Room alright at a cost lower than expected as we were switched to ensuite to fit with pub's other bookings. Meals good and some of staff v. helpful. Good cooked breakfast at cottage over road - well organised & v. enjoyable.

An excellent place for a meal.

The accommodation is actually in a cottage across the lane from the Dog Inn itself and has been comfortably fitted out to hold a number of guests. Everyone shares the kitchen facilities so it is a bit like living in student accommodation, altho' more luxurious. Nice informal atmosphere in the cottage with gardens to wonder around. Popular bar with efficient bar food service.
