Comments by walkers who stayed at Dales View Cottage in Ilkley on The Dales Way

A great first night before starting the Dales Way. Spacious comfy room. Delicious, large breakfast after a great night's sleep. A lovely welcome.

This was the best start to our walk that we could ask for. We were welcomed with tea and cake, and our room was spacious and attractive, with a lovely view over the valley behind the house. We did not have an ensuite bathroom, but dressing gowns were provided for us to cross the landing to the beautifully appointed private bathroom. Breakfast was scrumptious, porridge was made specially for my husband, and as well as cereals, fruit , yoghourt and the full cooked English breakfast, croissants and brioche appeared! We inadvertently left behind our little alarm clock, which Sally kindly posted home for us. A lovely place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Fabulous room with a great view down towards the river and our walk the next day. Sally couldn't have been more helpful. Delicious breakfast in a very comfortable B&B. Highly recommended.

Arrived footsore and weary after walking the Harrogate Dalesway link to Ilkley with an extra 4 mile mistake! Sally met us with tea/coffee and cakes. Our room was tasteful, quality, comfy, fluffy towels with a view of the dales and the Dalesway at the rear of the house. Nothing was too much trouble. We chilled out in the garden the following afternoon in the sunshine after a trip in to Ilkley. Attention to detail is first clas. Excellent breakfast with warm croissants etc. come and see for yourself.

The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Sally welcomed us with coffee and cake, which was very nice, she was also very helpful regarding where to have our evening meal. The breakfast was just what we needed to begin the walk. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

A great start to the walk. Sally gave a great welcome with tea and cake! The room was comfortable and clean with views of the hills. Something to prepare the walker for the coming days. Sally also provided a map on where to eat and drink in Ilkley together with simple instructions on how to find the start of the route. A fine breakfast to start you on your way.

Friendly and comfortable B&B. Excellent breakfast, croissants plus full English or other choices including scrambled egg and smoked salmon.
Sally kindly replied to my email enquiring about a packed lunch to point out there were cafes en route, so did we really want one? I glad we went ahead as it was very good and also meant we could stop when we felt like it.

Wow! Sally has done a great job. The rooms and the bedding are gorgeous, the bathrooms were the best on the trip. Breakfast was great and we were supplied with everything that we could possibly need.

We whole heartedly agree with the comments by Sue. A fantastic and very comfortable B and B, with great food. The hosts (including Charlette!) were wonderful! We raved about the place to others along the trail!

Couldn't have had a better start to the week! Sally has put huge thought and efforts into giving the walker a very comfortable stay. We had a welcoming tray of tea/ cake on arrival, the softest towels I've ever seen and a fantastic breakfast - warm croissants, smoked salmon & scrambled eggs! - just couldn't have been improved upon.
Local Ilkley Moor Vaults (5 min walk) do fantastic evening food.
