Comments by walkers who stayed at Butt House in Keld on The James Herriot Way
My siblings and I stayed here in September 2009 and we enjoyed our stay very much. The beds were comfy and clean. The food was delicious and loads of it too. The lounge was warm and cosy. A great night and we would recommend this b&b to everyone.

A warm welcome. Wonderful evening meal and breakfast. Comfortable room. Lovely dogs.

We had a very warm welcome. The house is set up for walkers so there were pegs to hang up our rain gear to dry, newspaper to stuff our boots and racks to store them. The room was pleasant but a little small. There was a lovely atmosphere here with a conviviality that us walkers were conquering the great outdoors. The food was pretty good too!

What a welcome! After arriving from a trip over Shunner Fell through snow and blizzards (Easter weekend) we were immediately given warm water and dry towels for our Westie. The tea and scones were delicious and just what we needed on arrival. The food and hospitality were secod to none and we would highly recommend Butt House.

Staying at Butt House in this quiet upland village was very enjoyable. Highly recopmmended. They are well-organised for walkers, with muddy boots ( and were welcoming to our small Welsh Sheepdog, who accompanied us on the Herriot Way) Good food. Home-made scones or chocolate cake and an open fire greet you on arrival.

An excellent B&B very good rooms, exceptionally good food (if you manage to eat it all) Doreen is very hospitable. Certainly one to go back to!
