Comments by walkers who stayed at Bramblewick in Robin Hoods Bay on The Coast to Coast Path

We stayed here after finishing the C2C walk in May 2010. I chose the accomodation on the basis of the great location and the fact that it was also a restaurant. The location was superb just a stone's throw away from the slipway and Wainwrights bar. However, we spent ages trying to find the entatnce to the accomodation, as the restaurant was closed when we arrived and there was no sign on the B&B entrance (in the road behind the restaurant). Unfortunately, the accomodation was poor. I suppose I expected the rooms to be small as this is an old building, but our room was tiny and had had a small window with a view of the walls of surrounding buildings an felt very claustrophobic. There was a constant noise from what I feared was an extractor from the kitchen, but which turned out to be an extracor the tumble drier which was turned off after I complained. The room was not the cleanest, but the shower was good and the bed comfortable. The owners appeared to have no interest in the C2C walk and what it meant to have finished such a wonderful journey, but were very keen to remind you to pay your bill!! The food in the restaurant was good, but the breakfast service was poor. I would recommend staying somewhere else.

Well !!! this was the worst place we stayed on Coast 2 Coast. Shabby and Very Small rooms, I am only 5'2 and could hardly move in the tiny shower. Constant droneing noise all night, never slept a wink, then in the morning we discoverd we were just above the extractor fan for the restaurant. Breaksfast was served far too late, 9.30am. Breakfast was the worst on route too. Its was like a disco, served by young girl and boy, owners nowhere to be seen. Just felt like they only wanted your money as this was mentioned to us on arrival to remember to pay before checking out, Then again on a note on our bed and again at breakfast !!!! Jams and sauces were they only ones on route unbranded, cheapest of cheap. Tea was rubbish too. So not worth the 80 per night. .

Great location - just steps from the sea (and Wainwright's Bar) for those weary walkers. Breakfast was good and very decent coffee. Hayley rung several times to make sure that all the arrangements for our stay were in place as the restaurant doesn't open on Mondays (the day we arrived.)
