Very nice room, and a good breakfast. Lovely fruit salad and yogurt and a good cooked breakfast. Good menu for evening meals, not too expensive and well cooked. No problem with road noise.

We eat here whilst walking the C2C in mid September, food was excellent, the service exceptional even though they were very busy nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely eat here again.

Comfortable and friendly. We enjoyed a great evening here with friends as it was my 60th birthday on this Coast to Coast trip. The food was good and I'd rate this as one of our more enjoyable nights.

Good accommodation and if you are fed up of pub food then there are other options close by.

Great room with a much needed bath. Was above the bar so a little noisy but didn't disturb us as we were pretty knackered.

This was an excellent place to stay the staff were really friendly the evening meal and the breakfast were both among the best we had. The rooms were clean and lovely and warm with really comfy beds and the bathroom was new.
Would recommend it to anyone.

We were rather disappointed with this accommodation. The bed collapsed in the early hours of the morning which although quite amusing is not really what you need with a long walk the following day. The breakfast was swimming in grease to such an extent that my partner could eat none of it.

Maybe not quite a walkers hotel (when I stayed all the other rooms were taken by night shift workers on the railway), but the room I had was comfortable (right up at the top of the hotel and so a long way from a noisy bar which was good), and the breakfast was fine. Nice relaxing bath as well, and the people were friendly. I was woken up at 4am by a bread van making deliveries to the bread shop opposite, but I wouldn't want to blame the hotel for that.

The owners here were another pair who went out of their way to provide a warm welcome and make us, and our families who had joined us with two dogs, very at home. Rooms were clean and spacious and the baths deep and hot!

We spent 2 nights here as we had a rest day in Kirkby Stephen. A massage with Jenny Brown at the Holistic Health Centre is a must!

Apparently this inn has changed hands. We found the management to be very accommodating, the food good, and would recommend it. Good location right in the center of KStephen's main st. 11/9/04
